Running through Simone Bolivar Square in central Cairo, tear gas and buckshot filled the streets. Clashes had broken out with police and protesters lined the street throwing rocks. As tear gas canisters were shot through the air, protesters would follow the trajectory of the canister with laser pointers. This allowed us to know where each would fall and give us more time to avoid the stinging gas. Some protesters were stoic in their defiance, standing in clouds of gas, unshaken.
