Tea On An Open Fire

Tea On An Open Fire

Following a weekend of exploring Egypt’s White Desert, we returned to our lodge for one last meal. With very few tourists in the country, we were the only ones in the dining area. We ate a big delicious meal and were joined by our host/cook. After we had all stuffed our faces, he invited us to his family home around the corner. We walked over by the light of the stars and he set to work preparing a fire in the large outdoor courtyard. We huddled around as he doled ingredients for tea into a cast iron kettle. We relaxed on big pillows, stared up at the night sky, sipped on sweet tea and talked the night away.
