While walking along the river Aar in Bern, I found an enclosure with grizzly bears. There was one big momma and two little cubs running around playing. Hundreds of passersby stopped to watch the bears. As they were focused on the bears, I slipped down to the shoreline and snapped a shot of the beautiful arched bridges.
It was a t-shirt kind of day when I trekked into the snowy white capped mountains of the Swiss Alps. Based out of the backpacker mecca of Interlaken, it was a beautiful hike to the top of Jungfraujoch. After a refreshing Rugen Brau, I went to Europe’s highest train station and zoomed downhill.
Arriving in Monaco, the tiny kingdom nestled in the hills of southern France, I stepped into a highly decadent train station. Lights swirled down along the ceiling of the tunnel, creating the illusion of a time warp.
Nice, in the south of France, is a beautiful Mediterranean city. Walking along the water you breath in the fresh salty air, delicious food is sold in little markets, and well dressed people walk arm in arm. Climbing to the top of a cliff, I found a panoramic view of the coastline. Nestled below me was a harbour full of boats coming and going, cruising through the turquoise waters.
Touring through the west coast town of Oban in Scotland, I came upon a vine covered castle sitting behind a tall wall. I scaled the wall and made my way for the top tower of the castle. I climbed through the ruins and found a window with a view. As I sat there enjoying my lunch, I wondered how many people before me had done the exact same thing.
